I did an upgrade install without any issues and my Mac is faster and boots and shuts down quicker. New Quicktime is awesome. I recommend all 10.5 users upgrade for $29.
TIP: Backup your data and make sure you install Rosetta in the Customize Menu if you have any PPC Applications like Appleworks.

To set a Mac running 10.5 to factory settings and to remove the user accounts. Boot up holding down Command + “S”
$ mount /
$ rm -rf /Users
$ rm -rf /var/db/dslocal/nodes/default/users/
$ rm -rf /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
10.4 Remove users and set to Clean Install.
$ mount /
$ rm -rf /Users
$ rm -rf /var/db/netinfo
$ rm -rf /var/db/.Apple*
